In 1 month I have....

(Opps I did this backwards...)

Turned 1 month old!

This rocking chair was my Mom's as a little girl and then mine. Now it is Katelyn's.

Visited Lake Arrowhead for the 4th.
3 1/2 weeks old.

Outgrown an outfit before I got to wear it! =)

Gone to see Dr. Yap for the 2nd time! I grew 1/2 and inch and weighed 8.5lbs at 2 weeks.

Had my friend Meegan take my Newborn pictures, I was 2 weeks old.

Wore a tutu and big bow! Just for Mommy's friend Ms.Kelli Doley =)

Took our first official family photo! (In my back yard)

Gone to visit Daddy at work!

Went to see Dr. Yap for the first time. I grew 3/4 inch and weighed 8.3lbs.

Been in my swing several times... I kind of like it!

Turned 1 week old.

I have also learned Mommy's voice and look for it every once in a while. Not to mention I have managed to pee pee on Daddy during Sunday dinner! I have started on formula and now Mommy and Daddy say I have stinky gas! But I don't think my poo stinks! I am learning to sleep in my own bed and not on Mommy's chest. She gives me formula that fills me up so I can sleep longer at night (like from 11:30ish to 8ish). I have done that the last couple of nights. I sometimes get away with still sleeping on Mommy if she happens to fall asleep first. I have found the ceiling fan and really like it. I like to listen to the rain/ shower noise. AND I LOVE CAR RIDES! as long as the car is moving... I do not like it when it stops. I have met several friends, Avery and Paislie. I am waiting for Tariku to get here from Ethiopia on August 9. I also still need to meet Eli!

Mommy says I am growing tooo fast and I need to slow down! Daddy is already worried about the boys...haha I am going to give him a run for his money!
Oh and Mom says she is going to be better at blogging now that she has the "mom" thing a little more under control! We will see.

Burchett: Party of 3!

On June 10th, our family welcome Katelyn Alexa to the world. Our day started at 5:30 am.
(My last picture being pregnant)

My doctor scheduled for me to be induced because I had been at a 3 and 80% effaced for two weeks. She was worried about infection. So we got to the hospital and got changed and in the bed ready to get the show on the road. I was started on the Platocin at around 6 and Dr. King came to break my water at 8. She figured she would be here around dinner time (5 or 6). I asked for my epidural around 9:30 (I am a wimp). Jared and I both slept for a while after that. I dialated about 1 cm every hour after that. Around 6ish I was between a 9 and a 10. Charge Nurse Betty (who was GREAT) had me start doing some pushing to try to get me to the 10. She wanted to be there when the baby was born, her shirt was from 7 am to 7 pm. Dr. King was called a little after 7ish to head to the hospital. Katelyn arrived at 7:58.

We had a few complications along the way. Her head (13 in) was having a hard time so I was cut. Then her sholders got stuck, that was a terrible 30 seconds for me. The delivery went from cool and collected to hurry and rush! Dr. King was putting out orders and it's never good when you hear her say "you, start timing!". Since her sholders were stuck she couldn't breathe and was turning blue... BUT about 30 seconds later she was on my stomach crying! =) It was a great moment. Then Dr. King informed me that I had torn and it was a 4th degree (come to find out the worst)! However, she was worth it! After I was all fixed up, Katelyn had plenty of visitors!

I have a friend, Meegan Weaver, who is a photographer and she agreed to come take pictures of Katelyn being cleaned up and with Jared for the first time. They are some of the most precious pictures ever. She is also going to take her newborn pictures very soon.
She posted a blog about Katelyn with more pictures. Go check out our baby girl and Meegan's work. Also check back over the next week or so for her newborn pictures.
our blog is posted on June 14th.

On the Move....Katelyn that is

I do not have a picture to post with this update, so sorry! I feel like every morning I wake up and my bump is bigger and bigger! Katelyn moves ALL the time. The Friday school was canceled I think she must have been doing flips (she was excited to get to stay home). Her movements seem to be so much more definite. I have actually seen her kick/hit or whatever she is doing to my stomach. It was an exciting moment. I am starting to wonder just how Molly will do with Katelyn. Molly was laying in my lap the other day and Katelyn kicked and it startled Molly.... she turned and looked at my stomach and was not sure what was going on. Mom and I have picked out bedding but that is about all we have done. I am going to wait till after our next dr. appointment to go register. Our next appointment is Feb. 23, I will have another sonogram. The last 4 times I have heard the her heart beat it was right at 150 bpm. OH and so I have only gained 1 pound but I have a bad feeling I am starting to make up for it. I have been so hungry lately. I guess that is what happens when you throw up for the first 4 1/2 months. =) All in all, everything is good.... now I just need to start getting her room ready!

And we became the Burchett Bunch!

Sorry it has been so long since my last post. Since then Jared and I have decided to expand our family from Jared, Kelli and Molly to Jared, Kelli, Baby Burchett, and Molly. We are expecting our first baby June 11. I have had 2 doctors appointments and I am currently 11 weeks along. At today's appointment the baby was very active and moved a whole bunch. It was really cool to see that on the screen. The heart beat at the first appointment was 172 bpm and today it was 161 bpm.
This picture is of the baby at 11 1/2 weeks. You can see his/her little hand.
These pictures are at 11 1/2 weeks also.

This was the first sono I had at 8 weeks and 2 days. (What a difference 3 weeks makes.)

Weekend away

This weekend Jared and I went to Dallas for the Fire Rescue International Convention. I was such a trooper! This was the BIGGEST convention hall I have ever been in. I thought it would never end. We got there at 11 on Saturday morning and left at 4:45 (it started at 10:30 and ended at 5). So this was an all day event. We ended the day at Hooters! Our friends Cory and Jessica, Rob and Brooke went with us!

We left on Friday night so we could sleep a little bit later Saturday morning. PF Changs is my favorite place in the DFW area so that is where dinner took place on Friday. Jared had never eaten there before. However he has heard Rob, Brooke and I talk about the lettuce wraps and he had to see what the hype was all about. So we did!

However the only thing he liked was the lettuce wraps. He did not like anything else. =( Oh well it was worth a shot. After dinner and we checked in at the hotel we decided to head to downtown to see what we could fine to do. We found a roof top that had a live band and went to check it out. WELL, a huge flying roach landed on my hand and after a near heart attack and some jumping and screaming in front of tons of people. I was DONE and so was Brooke. After that we couldn't find any other places to go. We were told McKinney street was the place to be but the cop on the street gave us the wrong directions and we were lost. But we drove around and checked out the crazies in downtown. While doing this we pulled up next to a younger boy, maybe 19 ish, that was picking his nose... and I mean digging for gold. I think his whole finger was up in nose. My classy husband decided to make fun of him by picking his nose out the window for the kid to see. Poor Kid I dont think he realized all 6 of us were laughing (so hard we were crying) and making fun of him. I hope he doesnt have a gf (cause that is really gross)!
All in all it was nice to get away and laugh with friends!

As promised from like a week ago. My classroom!
NOTE: My room is small and it is hard to fit 22 desk in it and have an area for reading. So I did what I could.
The best view I can get of almost my whole room.

Comments!

So I got home today, had some friends over for dinner, checked facebook, and then read some blogs! I got to mine to update and saw I had a comment on one of mine! I just love comments....it shows that someone really does read what I write! =) Sooo

Thanks Kate, Mom got the rug at Kirklands for like $20! I am sure an "R" would look great at your front door! Maybe I will just have to get one for you! (I was too poor at the time of the blog swap to participate, I will catch it next time!)

And then after that (I was so excited) I forgot what I was going to blog about in the first place!
